من مفارقات قرائتي لهذا الكتاب أنني بدأته في انتظار طبيب وأنهيته في انتظار طبيب آخر، وفي كلتا الحالتين حمدت الله أنني لم أولد في عصور كانت تعتبر المرض غضبا إلهيا وصاحبه منبوذ غارق في الآثام؛ ولا في عصر "كل ما يسبب مشكلة أو تعتقد أنه يسبب لجسد المريض مشكلة، استخدم مبضعك وأزله. This is particularly valuable as many of us who are wondering where the Canadian health care system is heading, can get at least an overview from this text of how our current system developed.

و لما دخلت الكليه بقيت مستغربه جدا طيب ليه مش الطب و الاطفال مثلا اشمعنى الجراحة ،، بس قريت فى كتاب عن تاريخ الطب ، ان زمان جدا ايام ابو قراط و جالينوس قبل ٢٠ قرن من الزمن تقريبا ان الطبيب بعلمه عن الامراض و طبيعية الجسم التشريحيه و الفسيولوجيه اعلى علما و قدرا من الجراح الى كان بيشتغل كحرفى تحت اشراف الطبيب و انه لايعلم شئ عن الطب و الوانه ،، و لما قامت الثورات فى فرنسا فى القرن ال ١٨ و ب, دايما كنت بستغرب لما الاقى حد كاتب انه حاصل على بكالوريوس الطب و الجراحة ، و ليه فاصلين الطب عن الجراحة !
