I think it might be significant that the hotel had still not been totally renovated and had previously been an SRO hotel. As others have commented, the lobby was still under construction, but we did not hear much construction noise during our 2 night stay. All rights reserved. We stayed at Hotel Belleclaire for 6 nights and it was great stay, a little pricey even though we had a 25% discount for prepayment, but it is New York afterall!Given the earlier reviews and comments on the renovation and noise levels, I emailed the management prior to booking and they were kind enough to ensure that we had a very quiet stay by placing us on the 7th floor away from the elevators. We were extremely happy with it, and the bed was one of the better hotel beds we have slept in. Stolen bag! I think the room was 730. Just stayed one night, but everything here was satisfactory. The room first assigned me was small and shabby (there wasn't even any furniture to put my clothes in) I called down, said it was the worst hotel room I'd ever seen (and it was) and asked for another room. Taxes and fees that are shown are estimates only. (I think the first room was 703.). If you value your health and don't want to have a pox-face, go elsewhere. It had one window and perhaps because we were on the first floor, the room did not seem to get much natural light so it was fairly dark in the room.
