Own car park and excellent customer service on arrival. 30 mins after the bagged toasty arrived, the crisps turned up , that's a bag of crisps which the lad must have ran to the local shop for as he was very out of breath. When we explained this to the receptionist we were asked what we expected them to do about this and they said all the rooms were like this which wasn't the case as our original room wasn't!After a few minutes of the receptionist staring blankly at us she said that we might as well go back to our old room which we did. Would definitely stay again. We went back to reception to explain that the room wasn't what we wanted due to the bed situation and also due to the fact that the bathrooms had automated lighting which meant that we had no way of dimming the lights to create the ambiance which was the whole point of the trip. 2 pieces of bread with hardly no filling shoved in a greasy paper bag. Absolutely loved this hotel!..From the welcoming,friendly staff to the huge,stylish suite (which we were so impressed with) we would highly recommend The Shankly to friends and family.The staff were constantly smiling and happy to help with anything which made our stay so enjoyable.We will definitely be returning!

Shocking for a hotel of this standard. A child could make a better toastie! The Shankly Hotel is rated "Very good" by our guests. The only letdown for me was the bathroom. The only downside was that the lovely jacuzzi bath in the room would not fill. The problem started at approximately 11.30pm on the night of our stay when we had a loud knock at the the door from the receptionist requesting that we turn down our music as the guest next door was a light sleeper. As I answered my door I was greeted with a staff member holding a greasy brown paper bag who asked me to sign for it then advised he was going to get the crisps!
